About LikeBright
Dating can be tough. But we at LikeBright believe you’re closer to finding love than you think. In fact, we bet your match is someone cool your friends already know. And better yet, someone they can vouch for.
Our Team
Nick Soman
started LikeBright to help people connect with a little help from their friends. He studied at Stanford and Harvard Business School and learned to build stuff that makes people happy as a product manager on the Amazon Kindle. He really, really likes connecting people. And music, and food.
Richard Luck
drives development at LikeBright because he loves to build things people want. He was the first technical lead for the Amazon Canada team in 2001, worked as a technologist for T-Mobile, Clearwire and various startups and has built enterprise-grade software that uses graph theory algorithms for network analysis. He met his wife online and played keyboard in a Utah new wave band in college. He really likes music, ideas and his kids.
Chris Lee
manages product for LikeBright. After studying Computer Science at the University of California, San Diego he worked at Apple as an engineering project manager for Mac OS X. While in business school at Wharton he founded Meeteor with the same vision as LikeBright, but for professional networking. When he's not obsessing over product details big and small he can be found on a snowboard or behind his DSLR camera.
Ian Gerstel
is a developer at LikeBright. In 2012 he left an unfulfilling career in mechanical and biomedical engineering to work in tech and hasn't looked back. When he isn't eating or sleeping or coding, he likes to embarrass himself with bad karaoke, bad dancing, and bad guitaring.
Cierra Jade Gonzales
is a UI and visual designer for the LikeBright team because she is a hopeless romantic. She graduated from the University of Washington as an interaction designer. When not going googly eyed over corgi flops, sappy comics or the next cute thing, she is planning her next awesome invention, from dog toys and kid noise makers to glowing snowboards and awesome coffee tables. She is always up to try something new.
Andrew Hautau
is a developer at LikeBright. A double major in Music and History at Florida State University, he fell down a rabbit hole at some point and has since also become fascinated with code and data visualization. He enjoys rock climbing about three times a week. He loves coffee, random jam sessions, nerdy games, and uses the Oxford comma in his bio.
Weston Karnes
focuses on marketing, social media, as well as creating written and video content for the LikeBright Blog. The most important thing you need to know about him is that he is a ginger. He is passionate about people, road trips, traveling, and peanut butter. Not specific to that order.
Kirsten Rogers
is in the business of building the LikeBright community through online engagement, contests and events. Fostering authentic connections is one of Kirsten's core values, something she has been doing through years of non-profit and development work in international education. Kirsten earned her Masters in Public Administration from the University of Washington Daniel J. Evans School of Public Affairs and did a two-year stint in Morocco with the Peace Corps. In her spare time, Kirsten appreciates travel, getting lost in book stores, taking photos, and playing with her dog.
Suzanne Scharlock
manages marketing at LikeBright because she is interested in companies that can better people’s lives. She is currently an undergrad at the University of Washington majoring in Business Administrations with a focus on Entrepreneurship and is considering a minor in political science. She really, really likes gymnastics, cat videos, and politics.
Nadine Tabing
executes code and user experience for LikeBright because she likes creating things that make people happy. She studied Computer Science at the University of Washington, where she did tons of games stuff, and is presently a graduate student at UW's Human-Centered Design and Engineering program. In her spare time she writes creatively, hopes her vegetables will grow, and aspires to sharing her life with a shiba inu.
